When you work with me, Mr. Mangattil Rajesh, I believe in being transparent about all aspects of my services. Below, I’ve outlined the key terms and conditions to ensure we have a clear and professional understanding from the start
Preparing a Report
I charge £150 per hour for reviewing medical records and correspondence.
For a typical personal injury case, the total fee for the report is usually between £350 – £500, depending on the complexity of the case and the time required.
Court Attendance Fees
My fee for court attendance is £1,000 per half day.
If the case is cancelled:
Within 21 working days of the trial date, 50% of the fee is payable.
Within 7 working days of the trial date, the full fee is payable.
Travel Expenses
If I need to travel to fulfill my duties as an expert witness, I kindly ask that my travel expenses are fully reimbursed. This includes:
- First-class rail travel
- Business class air travel
Car travel at a rate of £0.40 per mile
Cancellations
If you need to cancel a request for an expert witness report before it is completed, I will charge an appropriate fee to cover the time I have already spent on the case, including reflection and administrative work.
Your Responsibilities as Instructing Solicitors
To ensure the smooth preparation and delivery of my expert services, I ask the following of you:
Fee Payment: My fees must be paid in full and will not be subject to reductions due to any court-imposed limitations.
Reasonable Charges: Please ensure that my fees align with what is reasonably necessary for the case.
Legal Aid Cases: For legal aid cases, it is your responsibility to secure prior fee approval from the Legal Services Commission.
Payments
- Payment Terms: I require payment of all invoices before I release the report, unless we agree to different terms beforehand.
- Late Payments: If payment is delayed, I will add interest at 3% per annum above the base rate to the outstanding amount.
Indemnity
To help me provide the best possible service, I ask that you:
- Provide All Relevant Medical Records: This includes X-rays, scans, and any other documentation that is pertinent to the case.
- Provide Clear Instructions: Detailed and complete instructions will help me deliver the most accurate and comprehensive report.
Check Report Accuracy: Please verify that the factual matters covered in the report and any pre-trial replies are correct, appropriate, and complete before submission.
